On Friday, February 7, CCHS hosted its 15th annual talent show. Culver’s Got Talent has been a platform for Centaurs to showcase their talents for a long time, and this year we saw a variety of different acts. Group acts such as bands and singing duets performed and displayed their musicality. With acts like dance and piano solos, competitors showed off their artistry and individuality.
Walking into the Robert Frost Auditorium, one could feel that the energy was high. Decorated by the Associated Student Body (ASB), the auditorium was filled with gold stars, streamers, and balloons. Even the programs matched the color scheme, alternating among red, yellow, and white.
Students, parents, and friends came to support performers and when acts came out on stage, sections cheered loudly.
There was a very wide range of acts. Numerous Centaurs showcased their musical talents, with piano performances, singing acts, an original rap, and two bands. ASB even performed a comedic magic act and a dancer from the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts (AVPA) did an original solo.
In the end, four winners were chosen from the talented competition. Judges awarded first and second place to piano solos, and a dance solo came in third. The People’s Choice went to one of the bands, “Oreo”. Leo Marcus, the second place winner, performed a piano solo. He said he entered the talent show because “it was a really good opportunity to demonstrate my talents and the things I love doing and there were some really cool prizes.” He described the experience as “super fun” and said that it was “really nice meeting all the participants.”
CCHS has so much talent and students made it clear at the talent show. This tradition is an amazing way for Centaurs to recognize the talents of their peers and for performers to showcase their hard work! If you missed this performance, AVPA departments have many upcoming showcases, so look for tickets online!
