If you were to stumble into CCHS’ Meditations Club, you might just be pleasantly surprised. Take away the stress of tests or the loud pep rally music because in Room 64, there is only peace and quiet. Every Friday, Spanish teacher Jose Montero’s desks are pushed to the sides of the room, yoga mats are laid down and students pour in seeking relaxation. Montero plays relaxing music and talks the students through the experience by telling them to keep their arms at their sides and breathe deeply.
Kai Jacinto, a freshman member of the club since the beginning, said this club has reduced the stress caused by his workload. As of October 17, 31 students attended the club and that number only seems to be rising. Anyone can follow their cleverly titled Instagram account @whatiscchs for updates and more.
