CCHS Winter Concert Promotes the Holiday Spirit

CCHS Music performed its second concert of the school year on Friday, Dec. 15, as the various jazz, orchestral, and concert groups performed both individually and in a combined rendition. Although there was no specific theme other than “winter,” many of the songs performed had a holiday tone to them. Before the concert began, three groups played in the lobby and on stage as people began to enter the Robert Frost.

The songs performed ranged widely from classical pieces by Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker to more modern but just as enjoyable songs such as “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Similar to the Fall Concert, both the Orchestra and Concert Band played combined, although this time Jazz Ensemble joined them to perform the grand finale, “Christmas Eve / Sarajevo 12/24.”

Although the specific dates have not been released yet, the next concert will be the Jazz Festival, which will take place in late January. The Spring Concert will happen in April.
