A Dreamy Fall Production

AVPA’s Blurred Vision Theater company debuted their fall play a Midsummer Night’s Dream last Thursday. Room 108 was turned into an Athenian forest at twilight with sets that CCHS students helped build and paint. The strings of fairy lights and wooden mountainous horizon set the mood as soon as you enter the theater.
As Act One begins, it is easy to appreciate the care that went into selecting the costumes and makeup that turn high school students into powerful fairies. There was no shortage of glitter.
The cast’s energy is infectious as they bring life to century-old prose without getting tripped up on the Early Modern English. Their chemistry is fun to watch, showing the long arduous hours they put into the perfecting the production. A pleasant surprise for those waiting for the Spring musical was the occasional instrumentation of cast members. Sometimes you can hear a violin during scene changes or the strum of a ukulele during scenes with the fairies. There are many talented musicians in the production that helps accent the feeling of whimsy.
The play ran last weekend from Thursday to Sunday and picked up again this past Wednesday until Saturday. Go out and support your peers!
